Anna & Jack’s Afternoon Wedding

On a bright spring afternoon in Heswall we performed at Anna & Jack’s wedding in Our Lady and St John RC Church. The church’s classic arches and stained-glass windows offered the perfect backdrop. Furthermore the Italian heritage of Anna and her family added a warm and welcoming touch to the day.

An Afternoon Ceremony with a Friendly Deacon

Anna’s ceremony was led by an Italian Deacon who was conducting his very first wedding. Despite it being his debut he was calm and genuine throughout. Moreover his friendly manner put everyone at ease as he guided the service. There was a beautiful communion and no mass which kept the focus firmly on Anna and Jack’s vows and the music that accompanied them.

Music & Personal Requests

Anna entered to Gioachino Rossini’s “Married Life” from Up – a choice that felt both joyful and cinematic. Meanwhile Jack surprised us by asking for the Jurassic Park theme and the Formula 1 theme. As many guests are F1 fans their faces lit up when those opening notes played. During the signing we performed Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” “Wachet Auf” and Hans Zimmer’s “Now We Are Free” from Gladiator. These pieces blended tradition and film scores in a way that perfectly reflected the couple’s tastes.

Thoughtful Gestures & Outdoor Photos

Throughout the planning Anna was impressively organised and quick to respond to every question. She even arranged bottles of water and a handwritten card for our quartet – small details that meant so much. Fortunately the rain held off so we could capture outdoor photos in the churchyard. The soft afternoon light through budding trees made for some truly memorable images.
