Liberty & Lucus’s Garden Wedding

At Abbeywood Estate in Delamere, Liberty & Lucus exchanged vows in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony surrounded by lush gardens and rustic charm. Despite blustery winds, the sun shone through the clouds, creating the perfect backdrop for their special day.

Liberty made a memorable entrance through winding garden paths to Lana Del Rey’s “Video Games,” a song that feels both romantic and evocative. Meanwhile a gentle breeze carried petals across the lawn, and the wooden bandstand provided a picturesque focal point—even offering just enough natural reverberation to enhance our instruments.

Personalized Music Selections

Furthermore, the couple curated a signing playlist that included:

• Howard Shore’s “Concerning Hobbits,” which reportedly moved some guests to tears
• Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful” for its haunting beauty
• Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times” for a modern flourish

Additionally, they personally commissioned Radiohead’s “Creep,” a personal favourite that set an edgy, modern tone. Their pre-ceremony playlist also featured pop hits like Madcon’s “Beggin’,” Muse’s “Supermassive Black Hole,” AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” and The Carpenters’ “Close to You.” After the vows, everyone cheered as Liberty and Lucus exited to Sabrina Carpenter’s upbeat “Espresso.” What brilliant musical choices!

Bandstand Acoustics & Guest Experience

During both the ceremony and drinks reception, we performed within the wooden bandstand. Consequently, our sound projected warmly without overpowering conversation. Moreover, guests were friendly, chatty and full of compliments, and one kind attendee even filmed parts of our performance and agreed to share the footage.

Hospitality & Reel Memento

Meanwhile, the staff at Abbeywood Estate looked after us superbly—offering cups of tea and ensuring we were comfortable between sets. We filmed a short reel featuring all of today’s footage, including the cake baker and Liberty’s grandmother, capturing their pride and joy in a dynamic keepsake.
